The main type of advertising and in many ways the most profitable if you have a lot of visitors to your site is ‘PPC’. This stands for ‘Pay Per Click’ and refers to advertising such as that provided by Google Adsense whereby you only get paid when someone clicks on the adds. The good thing about this is that the more visitors you have the more money you get, but even small sites quality as the advertisers won’t lose anything.
Another good thing for commercial website is that you have control over which adverts you want to appear and which you don’t. For example, if you don’t want competitors showing up for example then you can ban their ads.
The downside of having this kind of advertising on your site however is that it doesn’t look great. The adverts tend to be text or text and images, and while you can change the colour of the adverts this still won’t fit the décor of a great custom web design that you probably paid for or spent hours crafting. At the same time as they’re available to anyone they tend to look somewhat unprofessional and make you company appear short for cash. At the end of the day only you can make this decision but just be sure to consider all of these pros and cons when you.
