They say you shouldn`t judge a book by its cover, and yet everyone does. We all know how important first impressions are, and we are often making snap judgements ourselves – even unconsciously – on whether we decide to read a book or magazine, or what we feel about a person. There are many reasons we do this, and for the most part while they may be unfair they also save us time and energy – before you have enough information on someone or something you are obviously going to go with your first impressions as that is all that`s available to you, and meanwhile this can help you to avoid wasting time by more quickly making a decision.
The same is obviously true of a website, and this is particularly true due to the fast nature of the internet. The internet has been designed to provide us with snippets of information which we can absorb at our leisure, which we can call up on demand without having to read through large blocks of text.
