At any one time, Boston Pizza can have hundreds of postings for jobs across Canada. With that in mind we designed a quick, visual way for jobseekers to drill down to opportunities of interest. The interface is clean and offers a simple user experience free from distractions.
Before the careers portal, Boston Pizza franchisees were spending too much time manually sorting, managing and following up with submitted applications. In response we developed a series of workflows to help store owners manage job postings and applications. These include the ability to assign custom statuses to applicants, download resumes and create a new posting using a template.
With the old system there was no consistency in the way job opportunities were presented across the company, and the task of advertising a new opening was cumbersome. We solved this by giving corporate admin the ability to create templates for job postings. When it comes time to advertise an opportunity, the store owner picks a template and sets an expiry date if desired; the other details are populated automatically.
The new HR portal removes a huge burden from the BP corporate team, but it also features a series of dedicated workflows so they can manage things on a higher level. These include the ability to create new job templates and add or remove store owners.
By implementing intelligent workflows that save time and reduce potential for human error, we were able to streamline the hiring process for Boston Pizza.
What used to be a cumbersome process now takes just a few clicks. The system is web-based, so staff can log on from anywhere, and they don’t need another set of credentials to do it thanks to single-sign-on (SSO) integration.
