WILD WEBSITE DESIGN

Wild Wing didn’t become Canada’s top chicken wing franchise by playing it safe. In that same spirit of boldness, we designed a website that holds nothing back—custom photos and videos showcase Wild Wing’s revamped menu in all its appetizing glory, while an interactive feature brings 101 wing flavours to life. This bilingual website also comes with geo-targeting, regional menus and specials in HTML, social media integration, a restaurant finder and a login area for franchisees.

It was important to capture the care and attention to detail that Wild Wing puts into its food.

WING COMBINATIONS

Wild Wing’s 101 flavours are a big selling point, so we rendered each of them on a serving of wings. The idea was to turn the selection process into something a lot less intimidating and a lot more fun.

To show off Wild Wing’s new and improved menu, we needed more than words. In fact it took a painstaking process involving planning, food prep and organizing to pull off a multi-day shoot during which we photographed every item on the menu.

101 WING FLAVOURS

Since most people’s search for a wing flavour starts with heat level, we incorporated that into the design with a coloured bottle lid for each of the 101 flavours and a corresponding legend. Customers can also narrow down their choice by flavour family and by wing type.

A DEDICATED PLACE
FOR FRANCHISEES

As with the previous website, Wild Wing franchisees get access to a password-protected library of resources including training manuals, employee handbooks, checklists and food prep videos. But this version of the resource section is more organized and easier to navigate for franchisees, while head office gets a simplified content management experience.

BRINGING THE MENU TO LIFE

The goal of the new website was to bring people into their local Wild Wing, so we shot a video for each menu category to give them a push in the right direction.

DESIGNED FOR
MAXIMUM MOBILITY

When reviewing the analytics for Wild Wing’s current site, we noticed a large segment of mobile users. In fact they outnumbered desktop users by a wide margin, so we took mobile UX design very seriously, especially the sections accessed most frequently on the go like the location finder.

LOCATION DATABASE INTEGRATION

Wild Wing has a network of more than 80 restaurants across Canada (and an appetite for growth). We gathered and standardized data for all locations, then integrated that data with Google Maps for an easy way to find the nearest Wild Wing. Each restaurant has a dedicated page that displays specials for that day, along with its address, contact info, hours of operation, photos, social media channels and amenities.
